Spanish Language Adjunct
Belmont Abbey college invites applications for one position teaching Spanish language for the Fall semester 2020 in our traditional (day) program and, possibly, in the evening program as well.
This is a part-time position teaching both beginning and intermediate Spanish language (SP101 and SP201) in the fall semester. Elementary conversation, grammar, vocabulary, and cultural context of the Latin American world must be covered, with choice of textbook and other materials to be determined by the candidate. Normally the courses continue in the Spring semester (SP102 and SP202), depending on sufficient enrollment.
The candidate is expected to contribute to the Catholic Liberal Arts tradition and atmosphere of the college in his or her caring relationships with the students and by the inclusion of Christian and Catholic subject matter when appropriate. A PhD degree is preferred, but an MA in Spanish Language instruction or in Spanish language and literature would also be acceptable.
