Position Summary

Belmont Abbey College is seeking a Registered Nurse. The Registered Nurse provides prompt, optimal and compassionate health care for all traditional students, faculty and staff of Belmont Abbey College, with the guidance of the Director of Health Services.

Job Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with patients from adolescent to adult in a family doctor, urgent care or emergency room setting. The position requires a valid nursing license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The incumbent will uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church.

 

Qualifications

The incumbent must have strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrate patient focused customer service skills. The incumbent must be able to work independently and be able to respond to varying medical situations. The incumbent must be able to make the patient feel confident and secure during the treatment process and be able to communicate instructions that are easily understood. The incumbent must be able to be a team player and collaborate well with co-workers within the Wellness Center and also colleagues in every department of Belmont Abbey College.

The incumbent will uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church and be willing to sign a document stating he or she will not promote anything that would go against the teaching of the Catholic Church. The incumbent will support, embrace and instill the habit of excellence and virtue to foster the vision of Belmont Abbey College as a Benedictine institution that finds glory in the true, the beautiful and the good. The incumbent will consistently demonstrate attitudes and stable disposition of character to support the richness of our Catholic and Benedictine identity while fostering the development of mind, body and spirit in our students.

The ideal candidate will be a Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience working with patients from adolescent to adult in a family doctor, urgent care or emergency room setting. The position requires a valid nursing license issued by the North Carolina Board of Nursing. The Registered Nurse will have proficiency with using a computer, email, the internet, Microsoft Office, and basic typing skills. The work environment is a combination of clinical and office setting with occasional events and sick calls outside the Wellness Center, so the candidate must be able to move quickly about the campus if needed.
