Assistant Cheerleading Coach

Position Summary

Belmont Abbey College, an NCAA Division II institution and member of the Conference Carolinas, invites applications for the current position of Assistant Cheerleading Coach.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate for this position will assist with all aspects of a collegiate cheerleading program, including, but not limited to, recruiting qualified student-athletes, monitoring academic progress toward degree, budgeting, scheduling, competition, game-day and practice preparation, individual and program development, facility maintenance, fundraising, and community activity. The incumbent must fulfill these duties while adhering to all rules, guidelines, and principles as set forth by AACCA, USA Cheer, the NCAA, Conference Carolinas and Belmont Abbey College. 

Qualifications

Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate a vision in the recruitment of student-athletes that fits well with the institution’s mission and character as a distinctively Catholic and Benedictine college that views sport as a means of developing virtue. The minimum qualifications for this position include a bachelor’s degree, an understanding of all AACCA/USA Cheer Collegiate guidelines, Collegiate Cheerleading/Dance/Gymnastics experience and/or affiliation, and at least one year of experience coaching school/competitive cheerleading, preferably at the collegiate level.
