  7. You will see a thank you page once your application is successfully submitted.
  8. After submitting your application, you will receive a confirmation email with a PDF. Please read this confirmation email as it contains essential information about roommate and room selection!

Now that you have submitted your housing application, you may complete step two of the housing process: roommate selection. The roommate selection period will end at 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, April 24th. After this time, you will not be able to choose your roommate(s) or suitemates. To choose your roommates or suitemates for the 2023 – 2024 academic year, do the following:

  1. Visit MyHousing.bac.edu and login using the same username and password that you use to access Self-Service.
  2. On the front page of MyHousing, click “Room Selection” at the top.

  5. You will have two options for selecting a roommate: 1) Simple Roommate Search and 2) Advanced Roommate Search.
    1. Follow the steps listed on the right-hand part of your screen.
    2. Please note: when you add or remove a roommate request, it will generate a simple email and send it to that student.
  6. You may select up to 3 other people to be in your roommate/suitemate group (maximum group size of 4). To be assigned to housing together, you must be shown as fully matched with the other members of your group, meaning that you all selected each other.

Only students who have completed the BAC Returning Student Housing Application through MyHousing will appear in roommate selection. If someone does not appear in roommate selection, that means they have not completed their housing application. Feel free to encourage them to go to MyHousing and complete their application!

Remember: roommate selection ends at 11:59 PM ET on Sunday, April 24th. Roommate selection will re-open at 10:00 AM on April 27th and remain open for the duration of room selection (until 11:59 PM on May 2nd).

You will receive a room selection date based on your academic year, and start time-based on your GPA. Please note your room selection date, based on your current, cumulative academic credits above.

Once you are assigned to your room selection day, you will receive a start time based on your GPA (the person with highest GPA for your room selection date receives the earliest start time for that date).  You will be able to view your room selection date and start time on the front page of MyHousing, starting at 5:00 PM on April 27th.  When your start time arrives, you will be able to select a room in MyHousing. Frequently Asked Questions

A person won’t appear in roommate selection until they complete their BAC Returning Student Housing Application. Make sure they submitted their application!

Yes! Your roommate/suitemate group must be shown as fully matched for you to be assigned together. Everyone in your group must select all other members of the group to be fully matched.

The person with the earliest start time in a roommate/suitemate group will select a room or suite and can pull in their fully matched roommate group. This person will need to login to MyHousing to select the room or suite. This person will also decide which people live in which rooms of a selected suite. Make sure your group discusses this beforehand!

Up to 8 people can be in a roommate/suitemate group. Remember that only suites with 8 open spots will show as available during room selection if you have a fully matched group of 8. (For example, if you hope to live in the apartments, you should only have 4 people in your fully matched group.)

That’s okay! There will be an open spot in the suite or apartment that someone else can select. You might make a new friend.

Returning students are eligible to live in Raphael Arthur Hall, Saint Scholastica Hall, Saint Benedict Hall, the New Residence Hall, and the Cuthbert Allen Apartments. To live in the Cuthbert Allen Apartments, you must be a junior, senior, or 21 or older. Returning students will not be able to select Poellath or O’Connell Halls during room selection. These halls are reserved for freshman students.

This might be the case for a few reasons:

  • The room is unavailable because someone already selected it.
  • You’re not eligible to live in that residence hall or room.
  • There aren’t enough open spots for everyone in your roommate group (for example, a group of 4 cannot select an apartment with 3 open spots).
  • Someone in your roommate/suitemate group isn’t eligible to live in that residence hall.

Some of our more competitive halls do fill up quickly, but never fear! Once you select a room, you can place yourself on the waiting list for a different residence hall (also through MyHousing). Keep an eye on your email over the summer – if there’s an available bed and it’s your turn on the waiting list, you’ll get an email with an offer to move to that hall.

Nope. Please double check your room, roommate, and suitemate selections before clicking on “I Agree – Submit My Room Selection”! Once you receive the confirmation email, your assignment is finalized. If something comes up next year and you wish to request a room change during room change week, you may speak with your Resident Director then. We’re here to help!

Of course!  Stop by Residence Life Office during Roommate Selection and we will be available to assist you if you’d like some in-person help. Please understand that there may be a little bit of a wait if several students come in at the same time.

To live in the Cuthbert Allen Apartments, you must be a junior, senior, or 21 or older. Eligibility for the Apartments is determined by Fall 2020 credits.

Visit the Residence Life office, send us an email, or give us a call (704-461-7371).
