The Mathematics and Physics Department helps students understand mathematical language and ideas, which will promote abstract reasoning and quantitative literacy. Since an understanding of Mathematics and Physics is crucial in assessing many of the issues facing the world today, a Major in Mathematics will provide critical analysis tools to help you participate in public discourse as a responsible citizen and to promote the common good.
