The Orientation Staff would like to welcome all new students to the Belmont Abbey College Family! We look forward to your arrival and are excited about you joining our family. We are hard at work planning New Student Orientations for you. Below is some information that will help you plan for what’s to come.

Fall New Student Orientation Info:
Congratulations on your choice to attend Belmont Abbey College!
This is very important transition in your life from High School to College, or even from another
college to Belmont Abbey College. We are here to help you find your place and make the transition
as smooth as possible. The orientation program will not only give you an idea of what it means
to be a college student but will also assist you in being a Belmont Abbey College Student by
introducing you to our heritage, history and identity. We are committed to you and will do all
we can to help you make a solid commitment to yourself remembering "that in all things God may be
glorified".
Fall Orientation is required for all New Students
All new traditional students (residents and commuters) must attend the entire
orientation program. Orientation check-in is from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 16, 2013 in
the Science Building. Orientation Leaders will be on the driveways directing you toward the proper
parking lot. At check-in you will receive your orientation packet; your student ID, and parking pass.
From the Science Building - Residential students will be able to move into their rooms.
Fall New Student Orientation goes through Sunday, August 18, 2013. Full attendance is
expected at all events and many of the events will be directly tied to your First Year Seminar class
(FYS). We want to help you meet your fellow classmates and build relationships that will last your
entire time here and possibly longer! You will learn a lot about Belmont Abbey College and will begin
to define for yourself your role as an important part of our family. We want you to have many successes
while at the Abbey and view this event as the beginning of your graduation four years later.
For Parents, we have special sessions geared toward helping to make you more comfortable
about leaving your student in our hands. You will have time to talk to Professors, Staff and the President.
You will be informed on some of the more confusing aspects of FERPA regulations and be introduced to all
the services we offer your student. Parent Orientation is on Friday, August 16th, 2013 and will begin
following the Welcome Ceremony and will correspond with your sons and daughters own sessions. Look for
more information in your mail as we get closer to August.
If you have any questions or need anything before your arrival on campus, please contact our office at 704-461-6893.
