Belmont Abbey College

Students are encouraged to get involved by participating in one or more of the recognized student organizations on campus. Getting involved is an excellent way to meet new friends, have fun, help others, and gain some important leadership experience. Participation in college-related activities provides students with an opportunity for personal development. At Belmont Abbey College, learning takes place not only inside of the classroom, but also in informal settings such as student organizations.

A club fair is offered at the beginning of the academic year to provide students with an opportunity to find out more about these organizations.

Additional information concerning the club fair or the registered student organizations on campus is available from the Coordinator of Student Activities, PatrickMotte@bac.edu.

The cheerleaders are led by Coach Rebecca Hethcox, Assistant Director of Admissions, and Tony Sigmon, Director of the Stowe YMCA and former cheerleader at Campbell University. The sisters also co-sponsor two blood drives a year with the help of the American Red Cross along with participating in such events as the Christmas Adopt-A-Child. A Balanced Man is not average or mediocre. He is one who excels in every facet of life. He is a leader, committed to helping others and guiding the way to a better world. He is a scholar, who recognizes the importance of academic excellence for success. He is an athlete who understands that physical activity develops a man’s potential. And finally, a Balanced Man is a gentleman, who has concern and care for others, whether in an academic or social setting. If you are interested in the Balanced Man concept – “Spirit Healthy, Body Healthy” – you should get to know Sigma Alpha.
