Belmont Abbey Adds To Board of Trustees Eight New Members Include Alumni and Business Elite
Belmont, N.C. (October 5, 2006) -- Belmont Abbey College today announced eight new additions to its board of trustees, including a mix of alumni and business leaders from around the country, that will join the full board of 38 members for the first time at today’s quarterly meeting. They are (in alpha order):
- Sharon Folk ‘68, President and Chairperson of the Board of National Business Forms Inc. in Greenville , Tenn.
- Charles Grace , retired President of Cummins Atlantic Inc. in Charlotte , N.C. He received an honorary Doctor of Humane Letter from the College in 1986.
- Br. James Liguori, President of Iona College in New Rochelle , N.Y.
- Dr. Charles Meakin, III , Medical Director of Caromont Cancer Center in Gastonia , N.C.
- James Miller, Jr. , Chairman of Fidelity Southern Corp. in Atlanta . He previously served on the Finance Committee as a non-trustee member.
- Charles Pol ’78 , President, BT Americas, a global information technology and networked services provider
- Richard Salem ‘69 , Founder and CEO of Enable America Inc., a not-for-profit organization that assists people with disabilities.
- D. Harding Stowe , President and CEO of R.L. Stowe Mills Inc. in Belmont , N.C.
