Belmont Abbey College Celebrates Black History Month Hundreds Expected to Attend Abbey’s Annual Harambè Mass

BELMONT, NC --- In celebration of Black History Month, Belmont Abbey College will hold a Harambè Mass on Sunday, February 19, 2004 at 7:00 PM in the Abbey Basilica at Belmont Abbey College. The event will be open to the public.

Father Mauricio West of the Catholic Diocese of Charlotte will serve as celebrant. West will be joined by the Perpetual Hope Gospel Choir and the Kabaka Dancers.

Harambè is an African word, meaning “togetherness” or “unity.”
