Part Time Assistant Records Specialist

Responsibilities
The Registrar’s Office at Belmont Abbey College is seeking applications for a part-time Assistant Records Specialist. Duties will include:

  • Assisting Adult Degree Program (ADP) students with requests involving the Registrar’s Office;
  • Helping the Registrar analyze transcripts of students applying for acceptance as transfers from other colleges and universities;
  • Assisting the ADP Office with transcript analysis;
  • Preparing and mailing transcripts for current and former students;
  • Handling requests for verification of education and/or degree;
  • Assisting with registration, especially of ADP students;
  • Assisting with tasks connected with the matriculation ceremony and graduation exercises;
  • Assisting with filing and other clerical tasks to ensure the smooth operation of the Registrar’s Office;
  • Helping with other occasional duties--as assigned by the Registrar.

Since the position involves working with both traditional and ADP students, the Assistant Records Specialist must be skillful in dealing with people. The successful candidate must be able to work at least two evenings a week and some Saturdays.

Qualifications
The ability to work well with students is mandatory. A college degree is preferable, as is competence in MS, Word, and Excel, but not required. Prior experience with PowerCampus a plus.
