Summer School 2008 General Information

  • REGISTRATION – Beginning on Tuesday, April 22, 2008, current students will be able to register via IQ Web.  We recommend that you meet with your academic advisor for assistance in selecting your classes. 
  • All summer school class offerings are contingent upon sufficient enrollment.  Students should check the Belmont Abbey College website or the IQ Web database frequently for additional course offerings or changes in schedule.
  • Please Note:  Maximum of 7 hours allowed when taking classes in a concurrent session
  • TUITION – We offer a discounted Summer school tuition rate of $279 per credit hour. Please remember that tuition for Summer school must be paid by May 16, 2008.   It is the student’s responsibility to coordinate any financial assistance with the Financial Aid Department before this date.
  • NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION - Registration will be by appointment only in the Summer School/ADP Office. 
  • VISITING STUDENT REGISTRATION - You  are  considered a visiting student if you fall into one of the following categories:
    • Enrolled in another college or university
    • High school senior

All visiting students must complete the Summer School application before registering for classes.  Please return the application to:

  • Admission to summer school does not imply or guarantee admission to the academic year.  Students desiring admission to the academic year program should submit the appropriate admission application with the Office of Admissions or the Adult Degree Program.
  • If you are visiting from another college or university, you should obtain approval from the Dean or Registrar at your school for the courses you wish to transfer to that institution.
  • If you are a high school senior and plan to attend Belmont Abbey College in the fall, the summer credits will be applied to a degree at Belmont Abbey College. Belmont Abbey is a fully accredited four-year, liberal arts, undergraduate college.
  • FINANCIAL AID - Very limited Financial Aid available – contact the Financial Aid Office to see if you qualify 704-825-6718 or FinancialAidOffice@bac.edu.   Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 – 5:00 pm.  Evening appointments available.
  • REFUND POLICY - If Belmont Abbey College cancels a course –100% of tuition is refunded to students.   Please refer to page 18 of the 2007-2008 catalogue for refund information.  
  • DROP/ADD/WITHDRAW DATES – See Academic Calendar below.
  • HOUSING - Very limited housing will be available for traditional age students during the summer sessions.  Please contact the Residence Life Office at 704.825.6893, after you have registered for classes. Deadline for applying for housing is April 30, 2008.  Students enrolled in six (6) hours in one session will not be assessed a room charge.  Students enrolled in less than six (6) hours will be assessed a $250 housing fee per four (4) week session.  Dining services are not available for summer school.

july 4 friday Independence Day – No classes
  8 Tuesday Last day to officially withdraw from Session III classes with “W”
  10 Thursday Last day of Session II Tue/Thu 8 week evening classes
  14 Monday Last day of Session II Mon/Wed 8 week evening classes
  15 Tuesday Session II Tue/Thu 6:00pm class exam – exam begins at 6:00pm
  16 Friday Session II Mon/Wed 6:00pm class exam – exam begins at 6:00pm
  17 Thursday Session II Tue/Thu 8:15pm class exam – exam begins at 6:00pm
  21 Monday Session II Mon/Wed 8:15pm class exam – exam begins at 6:00pm
  22 Tuesday Session III final exams – normal class times
