Dear adult student,
Welcome to Belmont Abbey College's Adult Degree Program, a program that can open up a whole new world of possibilities for you—in your career as well as in other dimensions of your life.
We like to say that our degrees offer higher values at a lower cost.
Our total cost is lower because we don't charge fees. And we do all of the paperwork for you for free.
We also make getting your degree more convenient than other programs; here you can do it in just two nights a week. And we've just made ourselves even more convenient for adult students by opening a new campus in Charlotte at Charlotte Catholic High School.
But affordability and convenience are really only the tip of the iceberg of what makes our program special. What truly differentiates us is that we are the only adult degree program in the region that believes in educating the whole person: in mind, body and spirit.
We are a college founded by the Benedictine monks. St. Benedict, founder of the Benedictine monastic order, had a simple but very beautiful objective: As he faced the disintegration of culture at the end of the Roman Empire, he gathered people to join him in living like Jesus. The formation of monasteries led to the preservation of culture and learning. Local families sent their children to the monasteries to be educated in Latin, reading and mathematics. And thus, over a millennium ago, higher education was born in the monasteries.
Belmont Abbey College was founded 130 years ago in this tradition. So again, what makes us unique is that all who work here welcome you, the whole student—mind, body and spirit—as you seek to better your life by earning a college degree. Therefore, for all who work here it is our calling, not just our job, to invest ourselves in the students who invest in us.
Times are tough. College can be tough. There is no easy road. But we are committed to your success. Our commitment to each student means that we make it CONVENIENT, AFFORDABLE AND REWARDING—NOT easy. Our promise is that if you join us and invest in us, we will invest in your success.
Why? Because this is our calling flowing from our Catholic and Benedictine tradition.
All the best,
