Applying is EASY

If you are a:

 

Freshman
Request that your high school transcript or GED information be sent to the Adult Admissions Office at Belmont Abbey College.
                       
Transfer Student
Request that all colleges and universities, where you have registered for courses, send an official transcript to the Office of Adult Admissions. A separate transcript must be sent from each college. Transfer students who have completed less than 24 transferable semester hours at the time of application will also be required to meet the freshman conditions listed above.

  • There is no expiration date on transfer credits
  • Many tech courses transfer
  • A maximum of 64 semester hours from two-year institutions allowed
  • No limitations on credits from any four-year institutions
  • Credit for Prior Learning (CLEP and Military)
  • Grades do not transfer (You start with a clean slate)

Former/Returning Students:
Any student who was not enrolled at Belmont Abbey College for the previous fall or spring semester must apply for readmission. Students who have attended another college or university since previous enrollment at Belmont Abbey must provide official transcripts of this work before readmission status can be determined.

Visiting Student
A Visiting student in a student enrolled in another college or university or High school senior. This is for the summer session only. All visiting students must complete the application before registering for classes.

Non-Degree Student
Non-degree students are those who wish to take courses for personal enrichment or advancement rather than to earn a degree at Belmont Abbey. Non-degree students are not admitted to any degree program, are not eligible for financial assistance, and are not assigned to advisors. In most instances, official transcripts may be waived. A non-degree student must still formally apply to the Adult Degree Program for admissions.
                       

Teacher Certification Student
Teacher certification students are those who have earned a previous four-year degree and are returning as non-degree students to complete those requirements necessary for teacher certification. As non-degree students, they are not admitted to any degree program, may not be eligible for financial assistance, and are not assigned to an advisor.
                       
Transient Student
Transient students are visitors who attend Belmont Abbey College for only one semester. They take classes which will be used for a degree or program at another institution. Transient students must re-apply for each semester in which they wish to register for courses at Belmont Abbey College and submit an updated transient approval form from their current college or university indicating current and good standing. Transient students are not eligible for financial assistance and are not assigned to advisors.

Auditor or Other
Persons seeking admission to the Adult Degree Program as a special student or auditor are required to apply to the College.

 

How to Enroll: A Step-by-Step Process

 

I. Admission: Apply to the Adult Degree Program:
• Fill out and submit the online application. CLICK HERE
Download and complete the ADP application and mail it to the Adult Degree Program office (see ‘Contact Us’ for the mailing address) or Fax it to 704.461.6658.
• Request an application to be mailed to you by contacting the Adult Degree Program Office at 704.461.6555, or email a request to ADPOffice@bac.edu. Please include your name, mailing address, and phone number.

II. Request official transcripts from all high schools, colleges or universities
• Official transcripts are required and should be mailed directly to the Adult Degree Program Office.
• You only need to provide the name and city of each U.S. school and we will request the information and pay any fee for you.
• Once all of these materials have been received and approved, you will receive an admission’s decision letter and an evaluation of any transfer credits.

III. Complete Financial Aid Forms (if applicable)
• Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) – Federal School Code 002910
• You can apply on-line at: www.fafsa.ed.gov
 • North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant (NCLTG) – available in the Belmont Abbey College Financial Aid Office.
