Language study
Though not offering majors in language study, the college regularly teaches introductory and intermediate courses in Spanish, French, Italian, and Latin. Students majoring in the humanities (English, History, Philosophy, Theology) are required to spend some time in the study of languages, as a way of encountering other modes of thought. International Business majors whose first language is English are required to demonstrate proficiency in another language prior to graduation.

Students who seriously pursue a modern language are strongly encouraged to avail themselves of the college's study abroad opportunities.
