OFFICE OF ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE/ACADEMIC RESOURCE CENTER

The Office of Academic Assistance and the Academic Resource Center (ARC), located in the lower-level of the library, provide a range of services to help students academically succeed and excel at Belmont Abbey College.

The Director of Academic Assistance oversees the Academic Resource Center schedules faculty tutors, and works closely with any student who is experiencing academic difficulty, including those who have been placed on academic probation. The Director also serves as a primary resource for students working to overcome physical or learning disabilities

Mission of the ARC

The mission of the Academic Resource Center is to provide academic resources and skills needed for academic success. In accordance with its mission, the ARC offers tutoring services, individualized academic coaching and workshops to the student population. In keeping with Catholic and Benedictine values, the ARC contributes to Belmont Abbey College’s larger mission of developing balanced persons who strive to realize the full potential of their unique gifts.

The ARC invites all members of the campus community to take advantage of its resources, services and available information.

Stacey Davis is in her second year at Belmont Abbey College .  A native of Norfolk , VA , and a 1997 graduate from Bishop Sullivan Catholic High School , Stacey has lived in NC for the past 9 years.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Methodist College in Fayetteville , NC and went on to teach and coach softball at Cape Fear High School .  After a two-year teaching stint, Stacey was ready to return to the academic grind of graduate school. Following her passion to work with college students, she decided to pursue a Master’s degree in College Student Development. Stacey attended Appalachian State University in Boone , NC where she received a Master of Arts in College Student Development, Student Affairs Practice.  At ASU, Stacey served as a graduate assistant in the Office of Disability Services, taught Freshman Seminar and was an intern in the Freshman Learning Communities program.  In her spare time, Stacey enjoys sports, traveling and shopping.
